Phillip Davis, 80, of Silverthorne, Colorado, died March 17, 2026.
“Phil loved teaching, sharing the joy of chemistry with students of all ages through science demonstrations and enrichment programs, and was an active member of the American Chemical Society Kentucky Lake Section and student affiliates. As a lifelong athlete whose interests spanned high jump, track and cross-country, marathons, duathlons, bike tours, rides over classic Rocky Mountain passes, and Nordic skiing, he encouraged his family’s athletic pursuits by coaching, refereeing, and running or biking alongside them. He also nurtured them academically with two of his six children following him into the field of chemistry, a third teaching at a university.”—Sandra W. Davis, spouse
