Gradiant has won a series of contracts supporting water management at semiconductor fabrication facilities across the US, with the combined value of new agreements reaching $300m since the beginning of 2026.
The contracts cover five semiconductor fabrication sites in New York, Virginia, Idaho, and Utah, with projects spanning ultrapure water (UPW), high-recovery wastewater treatment, local scrubber reclaim, and zero liquid discharge (ZLD) systems.
The projects are designed to reduce freshwater demand, increase water reuse, and support production at semiconductor facilities operating in increasingly water-constrained environments.
Gradiant CEO Prakash Govindan explained: “Water has become one of the defining constraints on how quickly the world can build the chips powering AI data centres, including high-bandwidth memory.

Water management across semiconductor fabrication
Rather than focusing on one stage of the water cycle, Gradiant will provide a range of technologies across the five sites.
Its work will include UPW production, advanced wastewater treatment, scrubber reclaim, treatment of complex streams such as hydrofluoric-acid wastewater, and ZLD.
Several of the contracts also represent repeat business from existing customers. One award covers the second phase of a high-recovery wastewater facility at one of the world’s largest semiconductor fabrication sites.
Another involves a scrubber reclaim system already implemented for the same customer across facilities in Singapore, Taiwan, and the US.
The technology recovers more than 80% of the feed volume.
Supporting semiconductor production
Water is fundamental to semiconductor fabrication, and manufacturers require ultrapure water and increasingly advanced treatment systems to manage wastewater and enable reuse.
Gradiant’s portfolio is intended to help semiconductor manufacturers increase capacity while reducing freshwater consumption and environmental impact.
The combination of water reuse, wastewater treatment, and ZLD can allow facilities to recover more water within their operations.
The company said the new contracts reflect strong commercial momentum as investment in semiconductor manufacturing continues.

Water security becomes a scaling factor
The expansion of semiconductor manufacturing is also increasing the importance of water availability.
As facilities seek to increase production, managing water resources is becoming an increasingly important consideration alongside manufacturing capacity.
Gradiant says accelerating investment in AI infrastructure is further increasing demand for semiconductors, making water management a critical enabler of how quickly next-generation semiconductor fabrication facilities can scale.
