First Hydrogen Corp has received TSX Venture Exchange approval to acquire a 60% interest in Exodus Actuation Solutions Inc. (RoboticsCo), expanding its presence in the growing robotics and automation market.
RoboticsCo holds a portfolio of intellectual property covering advanced actuation, gearbox, motor and robotics technologies. The company owns or licenses 26 issued patents and has 10 more pending, with its technologies designed to improve robotic performance through greater speed, torque density, efficiency, precision, and reliability.
Under the agreement, First Hydrogen will acquire its interest through the staged issuance of two million common shares and a $2m investment to advance RoboticsCo’s technologies towards commercialisation. Both will be subject to mutually agreed budgets.
Advanced technologies target robotic performance
RoboticsCo’s technologies are designed to address key engineering challenges across the robotics and automation sector, particularly the need to improve mechanical performance while reducing power consumption, component size, noise and overall system costs.
Its advanced actuation and gearing designs aim to reduce friction, improve efficiency and backdrivability, and enable smoother, more natural robotic movement.
The technology platform has undergone extensive development and testing, with more than 500 motors and gearboxes manufactured and shipped.
RoboticsCo has also received positive customer feedback, demonstrating improved performance and the potential to enable new robotic applications.
Its technologies have been tested and successfully used by companies in the robotics, automotive and packaging industries worldwide.
Potential applications include humanoid and industrial robotics, robotic arms and manipulators, collaborative robots, automated manufacturing and assembly, material handling, packaging, conveyance systems and precision motion control.
Robotics and automation market forecast to double
The acquisition comes as demand for advanced robotic components continues to increase.
According to The Business Research Company, the global robotics and automation actuators market is projected to grow from $32.89bn in 2025 to $67.68bn by 2030, representing a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 15.6%.
Growing adoption of robotics and automation across manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, and other industries is driving this expansion, creating opportunities for advanced actuation, gearbox, and motor technologies.
First Hydrogen outlines acquisition terms
In addition to the two million common shares and $2m investment, First Hydrogen will issue 523,475 common shares to an arm’s-length third party as a finder’s fee.
The investment will support further development of RoboticsCo’s technology toward commercialisation, building on its existing patent portfolio, manufacturing experience, and customer testing.
The acquisition provides First Hydrogen with a majority interest in a technology company targeting several applications across the expanding robotics and automation industry.
