Registration has opened for the ACS150 Journal of the American Chemical Society (JACS) Symposium Series events taking place in Chicago at ACS Fall 2026 in August and at the University of Cape Town in Cape Town, South Africa, in September.
The series kicked off in January with the inaugural event in Zurich and will have featured events across the globe—in Japan, China, South Korea, India, the US, South Africa, and Brazil—by the end of December.
Abstracts for the Cape Town event opened in April and will close on June 10. The Cape Town event theme is, “Molecules to Medicine: Advancing Health Innovation in Africa,” and will focus on innovation in the fields of biological and medicinal chemistry.
The Chicago event theme, which coincides with the American Chemical Society’s Fall 2026 meeting, will be “Chemistry is Everything”—the society’s overall theme of its 150th year. Chicago’s event will feature keynote lectures by Nobel laureates Carolyn Bertozzi, Stefan Hell, Jack W. Szostak, and Stanley Whittingham.
Registration for the other remaining events is expected to open soon.
