On the heels of our exciting major investment and NantWorks partnership announcement last week, Prolific Machines is pleased to announce a great new partnership with Zylidac Bio, a fully integrated biologics CDMO located next door to us in San Francisco Bay Area, to scale up the production of Prolific’s Optogentics-enabled cell lines for clinical and GMP manufacturing!
After demonstrating success at development scale with industry-leading yields across mAbs and difficult-to-express proteins, the next step is scaling the technology to GMP production for clinical and commercial supply. We are very pleased to partner with Zylidac, with a proven team and a great new facility in immediate proximity to our labs in Emeryville. Our science and production teams can work on the same program in the same week, and our clients get a manufacturing partner that already knows the technology.”

Prolific is delighted to announce our latest milestone – an investment to scale our optogenetics platform for biomanufacturing, expanding programs with several top-20 pharma companies and multiple biotechs at its San Francisco Bay Area campus and across its CDMO network. The funding will support team growth, further technology development and scale-up across novel biologics, biosimilars and viral vector programs. It will also fund early work toward tissue and organ fabrication.ㅤ
The new investment is led by Atoms & Bits, a growth-stage fund, and Nant Capital, the investment organization as a part of a portfolio of private and public companies in health and life sciences founded by Patrick Soon-Shiong, M.D.ㅤ
Prolific Machines and NantWorks also announced a strategic collaboration to apply Prolific’s platform across biologic programs within NantWorks’ portfolio of health and life sciences companies.
