The Southeastern Regional Meeting of the American Chemical Society (SERMACS) is seeking papers for its 2026 meeting. The meeting will take place Nov. 4–7 at the Renasant Convention Center in Memphis, Tennessee. Details, including names and contact information for program and session chairs, can be found on the meeting website.
The symposia will highlight advances in polymer chemistry and medicinal chemistry, the influence of artificial intelligence on drug discovery and research, environmental chemistry, and chemical regulation. There will be 48 technical symposia and several accompanying poster sessions, as well as three plenary lectures, a panel discussion including the current and three former presidents of ACS, an instrument exhibition fair, and a graduate school recruitment fair.
The symposium sessions include “Frontiers in Bioinorganic Chemistry: Metalloproteins, Redox Networks, and Functional Materials,” “Molecules in Space and the Southeast,” “Developments in Organometallic Chemistry: Structure, Function, and Catalysis,” “AI-Driven Advances in Catalysis,” “Chemical Biology, Enabling New Therapeutic Targets,” “Chemical Approaches to Therapeutic Discovery in Infectious Disease and Neuroscience,” “Ultrafast and Nonlinear Spectroscopy,” “Industrial and Applied Chemistry: Molecular Innovations Driving Real-World Solutions,” “Supercomputing in the Undergraduate Curriculum,” “Colloids, Surfactants, Interfaces and Nanomaterials,” “Multiscale Modeling of Protein/Ligand Binding: Methods and Applications,” “Inside ACS Energy and Fuels: Research Directions and Career Opportunities,” “The Molecular Sciences Software Institute: Celebrating a Decade of Service to the Molecular Sciences Community,” and more.
The deadline to submit an abstract is Aug. 3. Abstracts can be submitted through ACS’s Meeting Abstracts Programming System (MAPS), which opens on May 18, or directly at sermacs2026.abstractcentral.com.
