John Worns, 85, of Mishawaka, Indiana, died on June 21, 2026.
“John and his wife, Connie, shared six decades of marriage. He played lacrosse during his high school years, and after college he enjoyed playing tennis. As a college student, he took part in the Alpha Pi Omega service fraternity. John was a veteran of the US Army, serving his country during the Vietnam War. He spent 29 years as a research scientist at Uniroyal’s Flexlight and Ensolite divisions, where he earned seven patents in printing plate technology. John was a devoted Notre Dame football fan. His ACS membership spanned 64 years. He had a lifetime love of chemistry.”—Michael Worns, son
